•  For any switch element that is not "Ganged…" or "Shorted…", simply fill out the line.

  •  To understand how "Ganged..." or "Shorted..." is specified, we suggest initially planning the form entries with only one element per line of the form (i.e., with "How Many" = 1 for all elements.)

  •   Then, if successive lines will be identical in all respects, those lines may be collapsed to a single line by using the repetition parameter "How Many". ( Any blank lines that end up in the form will be ignored. )

  •  Some switch elements have restrictions.

    •  Switch elements 1, 2, 3, 14 and 15 cannot be shorted to an adjacent element.
    •  Switch elements 10, 13, 14 and 15 cannot be ganged to an adjacent element.
    •  Switch element 11 cannot be ganged to an element on its left.
    •  Switch element 12 cannot be ganged to an element on its right.

  •  For example, consider an eight pole block consisting of three #8 elements (Left-Hand Test Jack and Short-Circuiting Assembly with Common Bar) shorted together but not ganged together, followed by an independant #2 element (Ganged 2 pole Basic). Notice that the third #8 switch element is assembled differently from the first two in that it is not shorted to the element to its right.
